Hex Terrain Boards - Part 2
I've now all but completed the 27 terrain boards.
Here is the plain EVA foam board showing the angle cut. This reduces any gap between boards when they are placed together.

I then used a hand router to carve out the rivers with a width of 35 mm and a depth of 4 mm.

I then used a hand router to carve out the rivers with a width of 35 mm and a depth of 4 mm.
The river beds were then painted with relatively thin coat of Dulux Swedish Blue and then a gloss medium gel was dabbed on to give a ripple, water effect.
The roads were painted with a beige colour and then a sand-coloured ballast spread onto the wet paint. The roads were then sealed with a matt varnish and given a black wash to darken them and bring out the stone effect.
I took a while to decide on the best grass, but finally went with Heki-Summer Meadow (code 3360). For each board I then painted on the tacky glue and sprinkled on the grass using a kitchen sieve.
The end result is below.
