Painting Austrians - Part 1

I've just purchased a whole lot of Warrior Miniatures 15mm Napoleonic Austrians.
Now for the task of painting them all. I've experimented a lot with the white uniform and settled on the following method:


Prime Grey - Head, pack
Prime Black - Boots, ammunition bag, scabbard, gun, hands and cuffs
Jacket recesses - Dark Tone
Hair - Brown
Helmet Crest - Yellow
Facings - Red, Green, Ochre, Blue, leaving thin black line on border
Face, hands - Flesh
Roll-pack - Dark Tone
Pack - Brown wash
Jacket, straps, pants - Off-White, leaving dark grey undercoat showing in main recesses
Gun, scabbard - Beige Brown, leaving black undercoat between hands and in shadows
Face, hands - Soft Tone
Helmet top of crest - Dark Grey
Helmet - Dark Grey
Helmet face, Sword hilt - Bronze
Bayonet - Silver
Matt varnish
