I generally use Age of Eagles 2 as my preferred ruleset for grand tactical napoleonic wargaming.

I have developed two modified versions of AoE for both regimental and battalion-sized units.

I have also developed a tabletop variation of the Command and Colours rules that uses Battle Dice for both combat resolution and for issuing orders. This creates quite a fun and unpredictable game that works well for solo play. The rules simulate the friction present in Napoleonic warfare and neatly provides for national traits. The rules are called Vom Kriege.
